The Big Bad Wolf

The Big Bad Wolf

Reading the novel Wicked and watching its theatrical version have brought me to think more about the stories of villains. Thinking about the other side of the coin is an important and illuminating practice. Cultures often manufacture what horrifies and harms them; it is too easy to become someone else's evil. By examining causes of negative acts and thinking about how they can be stopped from repeating, we can protect people from circumstances which encourage them to become the actors of evil deeds.

But, is there really such a thing as evil? Is one man's good another man's evil? My poster series aims to encourage the audience to see the world in grays. All too often, those with influential and resonating voices in society advocate for either black or white. This is especially true today where the lines of communication have flattened and strongly-voiced opinions can travel the world over in no time at all. Strong and convincing opinions are frequently received by all-too-ready-to-accept minds with no desire to investigate or contemplate the information they stumble upon.
